Photolithography/Thin Film Coating Manufacturing Engineer
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Optical Components Center (OCC), Orlando, FL. Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the production life‑cycle of electromagnetic grids and thin film coatings for optical systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support manufacturing processes of optics, emphasizing photolithography and/or thin film coatings.
- Design and develop optical coatings to be deposited on lenses and windows.
- Define equipment parameters and establish maintenance items for supporting equipment.
- Perform characterization of deposited coatings and analyze data.
- Provide technical guidance to operators and develop/manage work instructions.
- Investigate defective hardware, implement corrective actions, and prevent reoccurrence.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies (capital investments, automation, robotics) to improve efficiency and quality.

Location: Orlando, FL. First shift, Tuesday to Friday (4/10B).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline from an accredited college.
- Experience or coursework in at least one of the following: thin film, coatings, photolithography, optics.
- Basic training in at least one programming language for data analysis: Python, Matlab, Excel VBA.
- Microsoft Office software experience.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Skills
- Broad manufacturing engineering experience, including work instructions, data analytics, automation, equipment design, clean‑room operations.
- Thin film coating specialization: design, manufacturing (PVD, IBs, CVD), metrology.
- Photolithography specialization: wafer preparation, coating, exposure, development, etching, stepper/scanner operation.
- Process control techniques: SPC, control charts, yield enhancement.
- Strong time‑management, independent work, and cross‑functional communication.
Security Clearance Statement
This position requires a government security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance Level: Secret.
