Cleveland State Community College is accepting applications for the following position: Adjunct Faculty Pool - Music/Piano.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.


• Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.


• Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.


• Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.


• Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.


• Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.


• Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in a qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of related qualifying fields. Three years teaching experience preferred. Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes recommended – hybrid, online, interactive, etc.

Availability/Closing Date

This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis (fall, spring and summer). Postings close yearly on October 31; to maintain your application you will need to re-apply each year.

Compensation

Adjunct contracts are offered one semester at a time and are not guaranteed for more than one semester at a time. Pay rates are based on educational qualifications:

• Master’s degree $550 per credit hour


• Master’s plus 30 semester hours (ABD) $575 per credit hour


• Doctorate $600 per credit hour
