Base Pay Range $156,000 – $296,500 per year

Position Summary The Director, Corporate Brand Marketing is a senior brand strategist and marketer responsible for driving the evolution, growth, and activation of AbbVie’s global corporate brand. This highly experienced marketer will shape corporate brand positioning, lead integrated corporate brand initiatives across the enterprise, and enhance AbbVie’s reputation with key stakeholders and audiences.

This individual contributor and leader thrives in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment—bringing clarity to complexity, defining new approaches, and guiding integrated workstreams that advance AbbVie’s corporate brand. They will translate AbbVie’s purpose, science, and impact into powerful strategies, storytelling, and experiences that build awareness, trust, and favorability. The role also plays a hands‑on part in inspiring teams, elevating corporate brand literacy across the enterprise, and championing best‑in‑class brand thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the evolution of AbbVie’s global corporate brand positioning, narrative, and identity.

Serve as the enterprise expert on corporate brand strategy, ensuring alignment across Corporate Affairs and enterprise cross‑functional partners.

Develop high‑impact, integrated corporate brand campaign, content, and audience strategies that advance corporate reputation and favorability.

Partner with media agencies and internal teams to shape, measure, and optimize paid media strategies.

Advise leaders on corporate brand vision, direction and roadmaps to build alignment and drive enterprise‑wide adoption.

Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and global affiliates to amplify priority reputation initiatives through marketing consultation and activation support.

Proactively educate internal teams and partners on external brand trends, category shifts and cultural insights—making them actionable to elevate creative thinking and strategic planning.

Lead and facilitate cross‑functional brand strategy and audience workshops to align stakeholders and accelerate decision‑making.

Establish corporate reputation learning agendas, measurement frameworks and reporting that assess corporate brand performance and guide optimization.

Oversee global reputation research plans, translating brand, audience and perception insights into strategy and measurable outcomes.

Inform corporate brand standards, governance and global enablement to ensure consistent, compliant brand expression across all channels.

Manage senior‑level agency relationships to drive insight‑led, strategically grounded creative work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field; MBA preferred.

10+ years of brand strategy and marketing experience in large, matrixed organizations or agencies; pharmaceutical or regulated industries preferred.

Deep expertise in brand architecture, positioning, messaging frameworks and identity systems at enterprise or global scale.

Proven experience leading cross‑channel brand campaigns, corporate reputation initiatives or major brand transformations.

Strong ability to translate external brand trends and cultural insights into inspiration and direction for teams and agencies.

Significant experience managing and directing agencies, consultancies and solutions partners.

Experience partnering with media agencies to build, evaluate and optimize paid media strategies.

Demonstrated ability to develop and apply research and measurement plans that inform strategy and communicate impact.

Strong creative and strategic judgment with experience evaluating and directing high‑level creative work.

Experience designing and facilitating cross‑functional strategy workshops.

Track record of thriving in ambiguity, shaping new approaches and bringing clarity to open‑ended challenges.

Exceptional influence, collaboration and communication skills in matrixed global environments.

Strong organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.

Additional Information

The compensation range described is the range of possible base pay AbbVie believes in good faith it will pay for this role based on the job grade. Individual compensation will vary by geographic location and other factors.

This job is eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentive programs.
