Technical Business Analyst / Technical Writer (Media / Entertainment Background Required)
Work Location:
Onsite in Culver City, CA / Sunnyvale, CA from Day 1 (Client prefers local folks). Travel required 1–2 day trip every month to Sunnyvale or Culver City. Hybrid schedule: 3 onsite days (Tue–Thu) & 2 remote days (Mon, Fri). Long‑term contract.
Requirements
Media & Entertainment background (must‑have)
Technical Business Analyst or Technical Writer background acceptable
3+ years experience; junior level may qualify
Engineering or technical background (Infrastructure/Networking, Storage, or Media Asset Management Systems)
Very technical: ability to sit with engineers, grasp technical concepts, and ask clarifying questions
Own the entire requirements gathering process
Familiarity with requirements‑management tools such as Jira or similar structured tools
Nice to Have
UI design principles (not required)
Example for Preparation
Client live‑sports team: determine types of unencrypted protocols needed, bandwidth, and types of networking gear onsite; sit with an engineer to create a diagram of the broadcast pipeline.
If the candidate has sample work, the client would love to see it.
Pay Range $55/hr – $60/hr. Compensation is based on skills, experience, location, and other factors.
