Job Summary The Wall Panel Designer will conduct administrative and support activities for the Residential Estimating & Purchasing department. The position requires interaction with vendors, customers, and field staff. The Purchasing Assistant reports to the Design Manager and works under the general direction of the Project Coordinators.
Responsibilities
Design open wall panels with MiTek design software.
Prepare wall panel layouts per architectural and structural plans and specifications.
Prepare pricing/estimating data upon request without a complete design.
Discuss changes and corrections/repairs with the construction team.
Complete and submit engineered wood product and hanger lists for buyout.
Review layouts and shipping files for accuracy.
Troubleshoot and help resolve plan discrepancies or inefficiencies.
Customer service support through the construction phase.
Perform duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Associate’s (AA) degree from a two-year college or technical school and two years’ related experience designing trusses.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and other design-related programs.
Previous experience with MiTek preferred.
Working knowledge of framing, blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
Professionally communicate and interact with customers, colleagues, and co-workers.
Physical Requirements
Extended periods of time working on a computer.
Lift up to 15 pounds.
