Job Title: Web Content Publisher Pay range: $50 - 57/hr. Duration: 12 months Location: San Francisco, CA Hybrid Duties Uploads and publishes content for the Global Brand Content Marketing team using a complex and proprietary enterprise system with roots in WordPress. All published pages are expected to be accurate, error‑free, SEO‑optimized, visually compelling, and delivered on deadline. The publisher is a proactive, meticulous self‑starter who uploads a high volume of articles per week. Ensures content is thoroughly vetted and has made its way through the proper checkpoints prior to publication, which may include SEO, copy editing, strategy review, design and localization. Tracks through a project management system. Proactively seeks missing elements and requests items from stakeholders to prevent publishing delays. Executes SEO optimizations including but not limited to: Image optimization (compress/resize) and alt‑text Table creation (HTML) Meta descriptions (writing, optimizing) Internal linking Hreflang mapping H2/H3 implementation SEO headlines Tagging and categorization CTAs and “read next” Follow/no follow links A/B and time/time tests SEO research Hygiene and performance optimization tasks Checks each article for quality and accuracy; thrives on catching mistakes before they’re live. Incorporates feedback from stakeholders in the spirit of continuous improvement, relationship‑building, and collaboration. Drives ever‑increasing velocity in publishing to meet the needs of the business. Tracks content performance globally on regular cadence and understands the broader content funnel strategy across platforms and products. Can identify appropriate calls to action, internal linking, and conversion opportunities across multiple sites. Contributes to content creation projects as needed (Example: collects information and lays out a newsletter in an existing template). Assists with content migration and refresh projects as needed. Stays abreast of best‑in‑class changes in the content marketing and web publishing industry. The successful candidate is a strong problem solver that exercises good judgment and speaks up when something seems off. Contributes to technical problem identification and creates Jira tickets as needed; troubleshoots technical issues with some independence and ability to identify when to elevate. Skills Operates with increasing velocity to meet the needs of the business without sacrificing quality. Extensive knowledge of web publishing and enterprise content management systems with direct experience uploading content; especially valuable to have experience with an enterprise grade, highly proprietary publishing system. Basic copy editing skills: Knowledge of AP style is a plus; great at catching typos. Enjoys the sometimes repetitive nature of publishing and uploading work; thrives on catching mistakes before they’re live. Deadlines: Meticulous about meeting publishing deadlines and seeks help reprioritizing when needed. SEO experience: SEO research and reporting tools and writing/optimizing content. Intermediate proficiency in HTML: Ability to identify and articulate buggy experiences that need attention from a developer; familiarity with atomic authoring is a plus. Project management software proficiency: Airtable, Smartsheets or similar. Proactive problem‑solving plus great communication skills: Asks questions when uncertain, but retains and builds on learnings; maintains and updates training materials that can be used by publishers across teams. Also provides support and troubleshooting assistance to other publishers across the business. Approach to collaboration: Helpful, positive, open to feedback, and a strategic thinker. Photoshop, Canva, and image selection experience: An eye for layout and design (i.e. can follow the template to create graphics with numerical formulas as an in‑text visual). Excel: Not afraid of a VLookup or Pivot table; can wrangle spreadsheets. Education 4+ years of web publishing/content management experience or bachelor’s degree.
