Role Description The Senior Strategic Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in elevating Pogo's visibility, influence, and impact across the county. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role develops and executes a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that advances Pogo’s mission and positions the organization as a trusted leader in community health.
You will be responsible for
brand management, media relations, digital strategy, design, and creative content development , ensuring Pogo’s work is clearly and consistently represented to partners, funders, and the public. You will also translate CHIP priorities into compelling stories, campaigns, and messages that build engagement and momentum.
This role offers the opportunity to shape Pogo’s voice and brand during a key period of organizational growth.
What You’ll Do
Develop and lead Pogo’s integrated communications and brand strategy
Manage digital media, website content, social platforms, and email communications
Create compelling stories, visuals, and campaigns that elevate community engagement
Support public relations, media outreach, and organizational storytelling
Oversee contractors, creative vendors, and freelance partners
Collaborate closely with Pogo staff and coalition partners to amplify impact
Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
5–7 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
Demonstrated success leading campaigns that expanded visibility, engagement, or brand reputation
Strong technical skills, including social media strategy, Google Analytics, CRM/email marketing, and Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Experience managing contractors, vendors, or consultants
Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, attend community events, and travel locally; reliable transportation required
Preferred
Experience in nonprofit, public health, community development, or public sector settings
A creative, collaborative, and service‑minded approach to teamwork and community engagement
