Primary Function Provide and create commercial spaces that are engaging, inspiring, and perfectly tailored to our clients’ needs and goals. Project scopes may range from a small, single office layout to large complex projects in the following vertical markets including, but not limited to corporate, education, healthcare, hospitality and sports facilities. Maintain and execute a comprehensive menu of services which includes asset and order management, facility, installation and space planning, consultative, design and project management services.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Act as lead Designer on assigned project
Collaborate with sales teams and clients to develop functional and creative design solutions that meet the client’s requirements, aesthetic and budget.
Research product solutions.
Design/space‑plan and specify creative solutions to proactively impact the sales process.
Take abstract information and apply Steelcase insights and learnings in a way that yields creative, thoughtful application.
Use an in‑depth knowledge of design trends, product applications and code requirements to act as a trusted design advisor to sales consultants and clients.
Foster client relationships through design knowledge, continual support and flawless execution.
Participate in team‑selling approach.
Provide continual support to clients for moves, additions and changes to their existing workplace.
Create computer‑generated design documents including design intent drawings, space plans, furniture typical, furniture plans, installation documents and rendered images to communicate and document design solution.
Create computer‑generated furniture specifications.
Participate in responding to bids and RFPs.
Mentor Associate Designers and Interior Designers.
Meet project deadlines and keep accurate records of working time for internal job costing.
Play an active role supporting the sales process which could involve live design, client tours and client meetings.

Application Excellence: Proficient at developing creative product applications using primary vendors aligned with ACI. Proficient at using current design software including AutoCAD and Configura, with additional software knowledge including Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp and Twin Motion.
4‑year Interior Design or Interior Architecture degree or a balance of Associate Degree and applicable experience.
Minimum Job Requirements
In‑depth knowledge of design trends and code requirements.
Typically, 6+ years of commercial interior design experience.
Desired Job Requirements
NCIDQ or state certification.
Evidence‑Based Design accreditation and certification.
Experience with CET Designer software.
Ground‑level experience: 6+ years of industry experience.
