TalentBridge is partnered with a well-established OEM manufacturer in Shelby, NC, and is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a hands‑on role in the design and development of highly engineered equipment.
In this role, you'll collaborate with engineering leadership and cross‑functional teams to bring custom machinery concepts to life — from initial design and modeling through to manufacturing. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical design foundation, CAD proficiency, and thrives in an environment where innovation and precision come together.
About the Company This privately held organization has been designing and building state‑of‑the‑art automated equipment for nearly five decades. Known for its innovation, craftsmanship, and integrity, the company designs and manufactures all major components in‑house — from mechanical and electrical design through fabrication, machining, and final assembly. Their equipment is trusted by both domestic and international clients and is recognized for its reliability, performance, and custom‑engineered quality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed mechanical design work using SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
Translate customer orders into complete drawing packages, bills of materials, and production orders.
Develop equipment layouts, 3D models, part drawings, and assembly diagrams for both new and existing systems.
Participate in R&D initiatives to test and improve new designs and technologies.
Work closely with engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to align project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Provide occasional hands‑on support in assembly or manufacturing to ensure design accuracy and product quality.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design or drafting.
Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD 2D (or comparable CAD software).
Knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical design principles.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Self‑motivated, creative, and collaborative — with a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset.
