Description
Build and maintain critical content automation systems that generate thousands of AWS documentation pages daily. Work across 9 distinct automation systems that create essential AWS documentation including service endpoints, quotas, regions, IAM policies, and CloudFormation resources used by millions of developers worldwide.
Drive the integration of these automation systems with our AI-first content platform while ensuring continuous delivery of accurate, up-to-date documentation that AWS customers depend on for operational decisions across the AWS ecosystem.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automation systems generating AWS documentation from service metadata and APIs.
- Integrate content automation systems with the new AI-first content platform.
- Work across 9 automation systems including CloudFormation resources, service endpoints, and quotas.
- Collaborate with service teams to ensure accurate and timely content generation.
- Implement content fingerprinting and quality validation for automated content.
- Support legal compliance requirements including EU Data Act automation.
A Day in the Life
You’ll start your day reviewing automation pipelines that generate documentation for AWS services across multiple domains. You may investigate why service endpoints aren’t updating correctly in the AWS General Reference, or work on the CloudFormation automation that generates documentation for hundreds of AWS resource types, collaborating directly with service teams to understand their metadata.
Beyond individual systems, you’ll contribute to the broader content automation portfolio, helping integrate these critical systems with our new AI-first platform. This includes implementing content fingerprinting so the platform can identify and manage automated content alongside human-authored documentation.
About The Team
You’ll join the Content Automation team that maintains the invisible infrastructure powering much of AWS’s customer-facing documentation. Our automation systems generate content for the AWS General Reference, service-specific documentation, and critical operational information that AWS customers depend on daily.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation
The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
