Reports to: CAD Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and draft mechanical/electrical/process/controls drawings for various types of projects within the project schedule and budget following company established processes.
  • Design HVAC, compressors, chillers, cooling towers and mechanical piping that are code compliant, cost‑effective, and meet quality and schedule requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
  • Perform design calculations for duct sizing & static pressure, axial fan sizing, piping and duct pressure drop, pump selection, and pipe sizing. Process piping experience a plus.
  • Design HVAC systems for industrial, warehouse, manufacturing or data center type facilities.
  • Assist in developing specifications and scopes of work to complete various projects.
  • Maintain document control and quality documents, assist in project execution, conduct customer visits.
  • Assist senior engineers on projects; read and interpret engineering codes and specifications.
  • Write reports, memorandums and meeting minutes.
  • Present to internal and external customers effectively.
  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer‑generated reports.
  • Research and obtain required standards/codes from clients and jurisdictions.
  • Work as a team player and interact well with others.
  • Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's of Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of proven design experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Semiconductor, or Laboratory industries.
  • Trained in AutoCAD / Revit design software interpretation and application.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient with computer editing software such as Photoshop, SketchUp or equivalent.
