Overview
Docket Media is a legal media company that owns and operates Securities Docket and Cybersecurity Docket.
Securities Docket holds conferences annually in Washington, D.C., San Francisco/Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. These events bring together hundreds of current and former senior SEC and DOJ officials, leading securities enforcement and white‑collar attorneys, and consultants who attend in person or via livestream. Securities Docket also publishes the “Daily Update from Securities Docket” newsletter read daily by thousands of lawyers and professionals in the securities enforcement world.
Cybersecurity Docket hosts live events in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and London for legal, consulting and compliance professionals. These events focus on the legal practice area of cybersecurity and incident response.
Docket Media is searching for a professional to fill the role of Event Coordinator to support these events. You will work closely with the President and the Senior Event Manager in a fast‑moving, informal, flexible and collaborative environment. This is a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
Organize detailed record of sponsors, panelists, prospects and billing for each event
Support communication with event sponsors and panelists before, during, and after events
Manage, coordinate, and report on status and timeline of conferences
Create written materials, posters, PowerPoints, etc. for use at events
Gather and update key information for event websites
Support logistics with livestream event management team on all aspects of virtual and hybrid events
Track and update key contact information
Register panelists/guests for events as needed
Create event‑related graphics and video clips for use at events on social media
Assist with email marketing of events
Assist with applications for Continuing Legal Education credits with states as needed
Attend one‑day live events (currently seven in‑person events per year) in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and London
Support event set up, logistics, materials, registration desk, guest and panelist questions, etc. at live events
Manage creation and ordering of customized event supplies and materials
Review video archives from event for inclusion on YouTube channel
Create written summaries and PowerPoints of event panels
Conduct industry research on law firms, attorneys, practice groups, other events, etc.
Support venue research for large live events and contract negotiations
Support coordination with venue on hotel blocks, menus, receptions, AV requirements, event diagrams
Manage shipping of materials to events and return shipping
Use Hubspot to support and track sponsorship sales and invoicing
Assist with research, metrics, reports for Daily Update newsletter
Assist with updating content and features on website (WordPress)
Work closely with Senior Event Manager on other administrative tasks
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Resourceful, “high agency” person who enjoys learning new things and takes pride in being able to figure things out
Strong oral and written communication skills
Detail‑oriented
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Respond promptly to emails and texts
Prior experience including organizing events and coordinating projects is helpful
Prior experience in the legal, consulting, or securities industries is helpful
Flexible to travel to approximately seven in‑person events per year (expenses paid by company)
Proficient and comfortable with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Google Docs; QuickBooks; Canva; WordPress; HubSpot
Graphic design/video editing skills a plus
U.S. Passport
Compensation
Salary range is $60,000 - $65,000 for a full‑time position, depending on skills and experience, plus discretionary bonus. This could be adjusted to a part‑time position (approx. 30 hours) if preferred by the right candidate.
