Gary SouthShore RailCats, Broadcasting and Media Relations Intern
The Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association of Professional Baseball are hiring a Broadcast and Media Relations Intern for the 2026 season.
Location: Gary, Indiana Start Date: May 1, 2026 (Flexible for the right candidate) End Date: End of the 2026 season (early to mid-September, depending on playoffs)
Duties include:
* Color commentary with the opportunity to broadcast three innings for all 50 home games
* Co-host pregame and postgame shows for all 50 home games
* Interview players, coaches, and front office staff members for broadcasts, features, and team publications * Assist in creating and producing audio/video elements (game highlights, commercials, radio imaging, social media content, etc.) * Assist in preparing starting lineups and stat packs for media, coaches, and broadcasters * Assist with press releases, game notes, team media guide, game recaps, player profile pieces/feature stories, roster moves, and any media requests * Update the RailCats official website and social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
* Create content for RailCats Social Media (Commercials, Podcast, Highlights, etc.)
* Work all non-RailCats special events
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* Good character, be reliable, and trustworthy * Must have prior baseball broadcasting experience and a vast knowledge of the sport
* Demonstrate strong writing, verbal communication, and editing skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
* Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Audition, and Premiere is preferred
* Must be available to work all home games and other events at The Steel Yard during the season * Self-starter that can handle multiple projects at once and maintain a high quality of work in a professional setting without constant supervision * Must be able to assist with all other departments within the front office * Ultimate team player

* Resume and cover letter * Baseball play-by-play sample * Writing samples (game recap, feature story, press release, etc.)
* Any other materials to highlight additional skills you can bring to the position
