Associate - Audio Visual & Media
Baltimore City Public Schools seeks an entry‑level Associate – Audio Visual & Media to establish and maintain audio‑visual district standards and provide technical support within the Information Technology Department.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot Interactive Display systems and hardware.
- Troubleshoot Audio‑Visual Control Systems and processing units.
- Troubleshoot Projection systems.
- Troubleshoot PA systems.
- Solid understanding of signal flow and ability to assess skill level.
- Understand ticketing systems.
- Assist in the implementation of quality customer support processes.
- Ensure systems and system changes are properly documented.
- Interface with vendor support service groups for escalation of technical problems during outages or performance degradation.
- Organize and maintain technical libraries.
- Research and facilitate resolution of customer service requests.
- Participate as team member in projects of moderate size and may serve as team lead for small projects.
- Maintain advanced technical knowledge of two City Schools application programs, databases, operating systems, customer data retrieval processes, or network configurations.
- Exhibit decorum and professionalism.
- Participate in training programs to increase technical, interpersonal, and communication skills related to assigned projects.
- Use tact and exercise good judgment when interacting with the general public, school, and central office personnel.
- Promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies and federal, state, and school board laws.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a technology‑related field or high school diploma with technical certification(s) and two to four years of directly related experience, as specified.
- Experience with in‑person, hybrid, and virtual audio‑visual event production.
- Knowledge of audio‑visual products and solutions including interactive displays and AV control systems (e.g., EXTRON, Crestron, Box Light).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Salary Range: Minimum $67,785 – Maximum $103,569 (Hiring range: $67,785 – $80,855).
