Creative Director
The Creative Director leads and inspires the creative vision, storytelling, and post‑production direction for Brown Missionary Baptist Church. This role oversees the conception, creation, and execution of all visual and media content—ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and brand across worship experiences, digital platforms, and special events. The Creative Director manages and mentors the creative and production teams, guiding concept development, post‑production, and the integration of video and lighting to deliver dynamic and engaging worship and ministry experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide creative leadership and direction for all video and lighting components of worship services, digital media, and ministry communications.
- Oversee the concept development, storytelling, and creative process for video and visual projects—from ideation to post‑production editing.
- Direct and manage all post‑production efforts, including editing, motion graphics, color grading, and final output for social media, broadcast, and internal communications.
- Lead brainstorming sessions and develop creative treatments that visually communicate the heart and message of the church.
- Collaborate with the Worship, Communications, and Production teams to craft cohesive, engaging, and spiritually impactful experiences.
- Ensure high‑quality execution of all creative content displayed during live and digital worship experiences.
- Provide oversight and direction during live productions, including camera, lighting, graphics, and technical integration.
- Support the planning and execution of non‑worship events (e.g., funerals, conferences, special services) requiring creative and technical input.
- Manage and mentor staff and volunteers within the creative and production departments, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Maintain and improve workflows, standard operating procedures, and quality standards for creative and technical production.
- Stay informed on creative and technological trends in church media, storytelling, and production to continually enhance the church’s creative expression.
Time Commitments
- Available to work 40+ hours per week.
- Available to work flexible hours and varying shifts to accommodate ALL weekend worship services and worship‑related special events as well as accompanying weekday rehearsals and production meetings.
- Available to work at short notice and able to handle constant changing priorities and demands.
Current Worship Times
- Saturdays 6:00 p.m.
- Sundays 8:00 a.m.
- Sundays 11:00 a.m.
Current Rehearsal Times
- Thursdays 6:00 p.m.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (2+ years in creative direction, video production, or media leadership).
- Proven creative vision and leadership in storytelling, concept development, and video post‑production.
- Strong understanding of AVL systems and live production environments.
- Experience leading creative teams and managing complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to blend creative artistry with technical execution to elevate worship and ministry impact through media.
