Design Build Transportation Design Manager

Jacobs is seeking a Design Build Transportation Design Manager to lead and coordinate complex transportation design projects.

Base Pay Range

USD $200,000 – $350,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Overall coordination and delivery of design on large complex alternative delivery projects including Design‑Build and PPP.
  • Maintain relationships with contractors, owner representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate multidisciplinary staff in a high‑intensity environment, often involving multi‑office execution.
  • Work with project controls and scheduling staff to manage project performance, analyze earned value, and ensure goals are met within time and budget constraints.
  • Responsible for overall quality and coordination of work, client interface, utilization of staff, reputation, and profitability.
  • Establish work plans and multidisciplinary staffing for each project phase, arranging recruitment or assignment of personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project engineers, engineers, and technicians to ensure progress on schedule and budget.
  • Participate in interviews and presentations to support growth of the Design‑Build practice nationally.
  • Maintain positive relationships with current and past clients.
  • Represent Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings relative to assigned projects.
  • Develop, review, and confirm financial and project delivery schedules for design and construction phases.
  • Identify causes for project revisions and determine billability.
  • Ensure compliance with contract agreements, exercising rigorous cost control.
  • Provide leadership, interpretation, organization, execution, and coordination of large scope and complex projects.
  • Assist Group Manager in developing new business and marketing to potential and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with subgroups, clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, other consultants, and professional organizations.
  • Attend meetings, make presentations, and respond to questions.
  • Cooperate closely with staff in other departments and offices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in complex multi‑discipline highway project design management, including at least one Design‑Build and/or PPP design manager role.
  • Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.).

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary range is $200,000 – $350,000 per year.
