Overview Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer – Join Timmons Group ’s Land Development Group in Charleston, SC . This role focuses on civil site design for a range of land development projects, delivering technical solutions in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment that values ownership, teamwork, and professional growth. Responsibilities Use professional judgment to independently complete assigned engineering designs. Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers. Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy. Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines. Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges. Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries. Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications. Act as a technical expert on projects as an individual contributor, and as a Project Manager on smaller or specialty projects as assigned. Qualifications At least five years of civil design experience. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to develop financial project management skills through assigned project work. Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
