Sr Motion Graphic Designer - NBC Sports (Live Sports - On Air Graphics)

We distribute premier programming through Universal Studio Group and Universal Destinations & Experiences and operate iconic brands such as NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, and Peacock.

We are looking for a freelance, full‑time broadcast motion graphic designer to join our rapidly growing Live Sports On‑Air Graphics team. The role involves hands‑on production of ground‑up broadcast motion design work and updating existing elements and templates for high‑profile properties including Sunday Night Football, NBA, Premier League, College Football, and more. You will work daily in After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema 4D.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Emmy‑awarded NBC Sports Creative team.
• Create graphic and animated elements, including in‑game inserts, interstitial graphics, show packages, opens, and titles.
• Communicate concepts and ideas effectively to the Art Director and design team.
• Manage multiple packages and projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency with the overall graphic package.
• Interface with producers and departments to meet tight deadlines and short timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• College graduate in graphic design or fine arts.
• Minimum 5 years of experience at a network or broadcast design agency.
• Deep understanding of design implementation in network television and live sports environments.
• Passion for show packaging and current trends in graphic design.
• Strong concept & storyboard design skills.
• Excellent design and typography abilities.
• Sound knowledge of motion theory and presentation skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Expert knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
• Extensive knowledge of Maxon Cinema 4D, including modeling, texturing, lighting, animating, dynamics, MoGraph, render optimization, and Red Shift.
• A love of sports is a plus.
