Executive Producer of Sports/Multimedia Journalist

We are looking for a versatile Executive Producer/MMJ to work in our Sports and Sports Programming departments at KUTV/KMYU/KJZZ Television. This role is part of the award‑winning Sports Department, producing nightly sports shows, multiple team‑focused programs, and live sports broadcasts.

The department also delivers franchise Talkin Sports programs such as Talkin’ Utah Jazz, Talkin’ Real Salt Lake, Talkin’ Hockey, Talkin’ Golf, and Talkin’ High School Football. We cover sports at all levels in Utah, including the Utah Jazz, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, Salt Lake Bees, and collegiate programs.

As a multimedia journalist, you will be responsible for creating multimedia content, scriptwriting, maintaining a strong social media presence, and engaging the audience across broadcast and online platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Produce sports content, including videography, shooting, and editing of sports stories and elements of nightly shows.
  • Create digital content, podcasts, and on‑air reporting or anchoring.
  • Maintain a social media presence and generate compelling content for platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • On‑air experience, including live in‑the‑field and reporting.
  • Exceptional sports knowledge, including the Utah sports scene.
  • Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi‑platform distribution.
  • Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape.
  • Video editing skills and expertise using social media platforms to promote sports content.
  • Experience with podcast production and creation.
  • Clear, concise, conversational copywriting ability.
  • Videography skills and ability to shoot highlights and live shots at sporting events.
  • Experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment.
  • Ability to produce content efficiently under deadline pressure and manage stress effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and a proven ability to drive safely without jeopardizing the company.
