Job Description

The Ruby Grant Fine Arts Library serves the neighborhood library for the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts and houses the Media Resource Center special collection. Student Library Assistants (SLAs) at this library serve as the first point of contact for patrons.

Students in this position will receive training on library policies, procedures, research and information literacy skills, databases, and patron services.

Job Duties

  • Interacts with public at the circulation desk, answering questions about resources and media.
  • Checks out, checks in, retrieves, and sorts materials.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to allow working evenings and/or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be enrolled in the Fall term as a student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Class Schedule: Must attach the Fall Term 2025 OU class schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular bending, carrying, climbing, and stooping.

Department Preferences

  • Background in Fine Arts, especially Music or Visual Arts.
