HOK is currently seeking a Senior Interior Design Professional to join our team.
A Senior Interior Design Professional performs complex interior design assignments receiving specific and detailed instruction as to tasks required and results expected.
Responsibilities
With preliminary direction from the project architect or project manager, analyze and develop approaches to the creation and modification of architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc., ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
With direction from the project designer or more senior design technician, develop, modify, and/or review drawings according to established standards.
Develop strong presentations and early design studies; prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and build models for client/project team review.
Understand and translate design intent into technical documents.
May lead a small team of more junior technicians in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems following established standards.
Assist in client, consultant and contractor project information coordination.
Assist team leader in ensuring that documentation for all phases conforms to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice Standards.
Apply proper QA/QC methods throughout the project.
Conduct product and code research and incorporate codes into technical documents.
Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff, and may participate in professional development reviews.
May have regular interface with clients and consultants.
May assist in work planning and scheduling processes.
Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
May assist the team in construction administration document management.
Assure HOK document standards are met and archive documents appropriately.
May participate in setting up project team software parameters and manage standards.
Facilitate internal and external communications.
Track all project data in electronic files.
Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in architecture required.
Three (3) plus years of experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required.
LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.

Compensation Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location.
The reasonably estimated annual salary range for this position in Chicago is $60,000–$80,000.
