This 10‑month staff position covers the months of June and July off. It is funded through philanthropic gift support, and continued employment is contingent upon the ongoing availability of these funds.

Position Summary The Assistant Director (AD) supports the daily operations of the Villanova School of Business (VSB) Center for Marketing and Consumer Insights (CMCI). The AD assists in the development and implementation of programmatic, educational, and professional development opportunities for CMCI, reports to the Center Director, and works with internal and external stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, alumni, employers). The AD helps achieve the Center’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities The AD’s responsibilities center on the execution of CMCI’s programming, especially initiatives focused on entrepreneurship. The role includes:

Coordination of existing programs and events, and development of new CMCI programs such as case competitions, professional development and networking programs, student treks, speaker series, and virtual panels.

Management of all ongoing programmatic functions including the Villanova Venture Initiative (VVI), Marketing Mania, and Consumer Insights Lab.

Planning and execution of quarterly pitch events for VVI and development of new sales‑focused programming for the NovaSales initiative.

Reporting on progress and outcomes of all initiatives.

Representation of CMCI at university‑wide promotional events and professional conferences.

Collaboration with university stakeholders to advance CMCI initiatives and support communication materials.

Administration of budget reports, payment processing, and logistics for the Consumer Insights Lab.

Tracking of CMCI membership, processing renewals, and maintaining the membership directory.

Hiring, training, and managing a student workforce for program support.

Monitoring marketing career and internship opportunities through Handshake and LinkedIn.

Assisting with special projects and collaborating with other VSB and university centers and offices.

Supporting occasional evening or weekend programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and knowledge of general office equipment.

Excellent time and project management skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills.

Strong attention to detail and professionalism.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, university database systems, and online tools such as Handshake, AirTable, and Qualtrics.

Interest in entrepreneurship.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Student Services.

Knowledge of fundraising.

Experience in entrepreneurship, especially in startup and venture capital.

Physical Requirements and Unusual Work Hours

Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Salary and Classification This position falls within salaried grade 13 with a range of $46,200—$49,800. The final salary will be determined by candidate qualifications, department budget, market data, and internal equity. The position is exempt.
