World Vision is hiring a Senior Director of Communications to lead our global communications strategy and execution.

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or executive engagement roles. Demonstrated executive presence through strategic communication that influences stakeholders, aligns with leadership vision, and reinforces organizational reputation. Proven track record of leading integrated communications strategies and managing senior-level relationships.

Preferred Experience:

Background in faith-based or humanitarian organizations preferred.

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer.

Estimated hiring range:

$140,000 – $155,000

The Job This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for leading and executing executive thought leadership strategy to elevate World Vision U.S.’s leadership voice across internal and external platforms. As a faith-based humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and communities worldwide, we need a communications leader who can ensure alignment with organizational mission and brand integrity while driving strategic engagement and fostering a high-performance communications team.

The role may require occasional domestic and international travel to field locations to gather stories and content, as well as to represent World Vision at key events.

Responsibilities will include

Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.

Lead and execute an executive thought leadership strategy to elevate World Vision U.S.’s leadership voice across internal and external platforms.

Develop and implement a unified internal and external communications approach that protects and enhances World Vision’s public image and brand integrity while ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms and audiences.

Partner with the CEO and senior leaders to align messaging and initiatives with organizational mission and priorities, providing strategic counsel on communication opportunities and risks.

Lead cross-functional teams to elevate World Vision’s profile through strategic external engagements, including partnerships with boards, key Christian organizations, nonprofits, churches, and academic institutions.

Manage and mentor the public relations team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture with clear goals and professional development opportunities.

Oversee senior-level agency relationships (e.g., 5WPR) and coach internal teams to strengthen agency management skills and optimize partnership outcomes.

Requirements

Proven track record of leading integrated communications strategies and managing senior-level relationships.

Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred.

Demonstrated commitment to World Vision's mission and Christian values.

Salary & Benefits WVUS Pay Grade Level:

230

Estimated hiring range:

$140,000 – $155,000

The posted hiring salary range reflects pay for U.S. locations and is determined using market data and internal compensation guidelines. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
