Kind of contract: Open Ended Contract
Mission As a Technical Writer, you will join the Documentation Team at our Belgian headquarters in Louvain-la-Neuve. You will be responsible for creating, structuring, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation related primarily to Proton Therapy (clinical user manuals, system descriptions, installation procedures, accelerator guides, and site-specific documentation). You will act as the bridge between engineering experts and clinical end-users (physicists, therapists), converting complex technical inputs into clear, readable, and structured manuals in simplified technical english.
Key responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain large-scale technical manuals (including clinical user guides up to 2,000+ pages).
Collect and align inputs from multiple sources: design teams, system engineers, requirement managers, testing teams, project managers, and existing documentation.
Analyze, restructure, or propose new information architecture when needed to ensure clarity and consistency across manuals.
Translate technical concepts into simplified, accessible documentation for non-native English-speaking users.
Contribute to both generic documentation and site-specific documentation for PT centers worldwide.
Ensure documentation compliance and support the team in handling deviations or non-conformities when required.
Promote best practices in terminology, consistency, reuse, and single-sourcing.
Skills and Qualifications You have
Master’s degree in engineering or sciences (electro‑mechanical, electronics, biomedical, physics, or equivalent).
Previous experience (±3 years) in technical writing.
Ability to understand technical systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
Comfortable reading engineering drawings, plans, and schematics.
Strong technical curiosity and no blocking points on technical content.
Fluent in English, French is an asset.
Ability to analyze, simplify, and vulgarize complex concepts.
