Remote Social Media Manager - Africa Base

Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen.
We believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet (“online”). We believe that the onchain platform should be open source, free to use, and globally available. And we believe that in order to make it really work, we need all hands on deck, working together to scale in a secure, decentralized, easy‑to‑use way.

Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We’re joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it’s a public good available to everyone; and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods.
Africa Base Social Media Manager
who will help us grow Base’s social footprint. You’ll be responsible for driving Base’s social media presence in Africa.
What you’ll be doing (job duties)
Own Base’s social media presence in Africa and execute regional content strategies across X, Telegram, Instagram, TikTok and emerging platforms.
Localize global campaigns for an African audience, collaborate with cross‑functional teams ensuring cultural relevance and resonance while maintaining brand consistency.
Grow and engage the regional community: connecting with builders, creators and traders.
Monitor sentiment and trends in regional crypto markets and communities, turning insights into actionable content or campaigns.
Create and direct content and tailor to multiple social platforms.
What we look for in you (job requirements)
Deeply immersed in crypto culture. Very active onchain and you follow onchain trends and narratives daily.
Experienced in social media management (ideally 3+ years) in crypto, tech, or Web3 startups.
Additional experience in either growth marketing, content creation, or community led growth.
Experience growing or managing crypto communities in Africa – existing relationships with builders, creators and KOLs are a plus.
Strong communicator. You write clearly and with personality, adjusting tone to fit different audiences.
Preferred locations: Kenya or Ghana. Possible locations: UAE or London.
