Lead UX Designer
Job Summary The
Lead UX Designer
will guide the UX strategy and hands‑on design execution for a large‑scale workflow platform supporting credit risk and financial decision‑making. This person will lead concept development, wireframes, interaction design, and visual standards, while partnering closely with product and technology to ensure a consistent and intuitive user experience across integrated applications.
The role is both strategic and hands‑on (50/50 split), requiring strong Figma expertise, user research synthesis, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate within and evolve an existing design system. Location for this role is in Pittsburgh, PA or NYC (4 days onsite hybrid) | Lake Mary, FL considered as backup.
Key Responsibilities
UX Strategy & Leadership: Drive design direction, establish frameworks, and ensure alignment with platform goals and branding.
Hands‑On Design Execution: Produce wireframes, prototypes, user flows, dashboards, and design artifacts in Figma.
Design System Governance: Apply and refine existing design standards to maintain consistency across integrated applications.
User Research & Analysis: Interpret user feedback, research insights, workflows, and use cases to inform design decisions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, technology, and business stakeholders, including the Chief Credit Officer’s org and engineering leads.
Mentorship & Process Enablement: Mentor junior designers and help establish repeatable UX processes and documentation.
Platform Improvement Focus: Lead UX iterations to improve navigation, search capabilities, and dashboard usability to drive efficiency and user effectiveness.
Qualifications
10+ years of UX/Product Design experience, with strong interaction, visual design, and research depth.
Highly independent, able to lead UX direction with minimal oversight.
Proven experience in enterprise‑scale design and collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to influence and justify design decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in UX, HCI, Psychology, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Experience
Design experience in financial services, FinTech, healthcare, or regulated industries.
Background in workflow platforms, user dashboards, or multi‑system integrations.
Experience solving complex data visibility and navigation challenges.
Advanced degree is a plus.
