Job Summary / Description KFYR has an opening for a part‑time weekend multimedia journalist. Experience is not required but preferred. Qualified candidates must be willing to learn all aspects of television news, including writing, producing, videography, editing, and anchoring.
Duties / Responsibilities
Write, shoot, and edit news stories
Use social media to enhance reporting
Research story ideas and plan ahead
Assist with production as needed
Participate in editorial meetings
Opportunity for fill‑in anchoring based on interest and ability
Maintain a flexible schedule to cover after‑hours news breaks
Represent the station at public events
Qualifications / Requirements
Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or equivalent degree (preferred)
Ability to carry 20–30 lbs of equipment
Knowledge of social media for news coverage (e.g., Facebook Live, X)
General interest in news and current events
Ability to collaborate with team members
