Associate Writer/Producer The Associate Writer/Producer is a developing creative with strong storytelling instincts, editorial judgment, and a growing ability to independently manage projects from concept through delivery.
Reporting to the Creative Director of Marketing AV, this role supports the development and execution of compelling promotional content for HBO and Max programming. The Associate Writer/Producer edits and produces assets with frequent guidance from senior staff and frequent management oversight for campaigns at all levels. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, creativity, and sound decision‑making, while collaborating effectively within a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Accountabilities
Conceptualize, write, produce, and edit a variety of promotional assets including episodic promos, recaps, social content, cutdowns, and extra content.
Maintain the creative vision, tone, and execution of campaign assets from ideation through final delivery.
Screen and research content to develop original creative concepts and scripts.
Edit content using Avid or similar platforms; oversee finishing including graphics, sound mix, and color correction.
Participate in on‑set and event‑based content capture under the guidance of senior producers.
Support campaign execution with basic coordination responsibilities, including asset tracking and versioning.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with marketing operations and production teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
1–3 years of experience in writing, producing, and editing video content, preferably in entertainment or media.
Proficiency in non‑linear editing systems (Avid preferred); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Sound writing skills with a clear understanding of tone, structure, and storytelling across platforms.
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound creative judgment, and adapt to shifting priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to take direction and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Working knowledge of post‑production workflows and asset management systems.

Compensation and Benefits Base pay is in the range of $67,176.00 – $124,755.00 per year, depending on experience and location. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Additional benefits include health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
