Location: San Bernardino, CA, United States Salary: $74,000 – $104,000 Division: Nucor Data Systems
Responsibilities
Create detailed design layouts and schematics for data center infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems. Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure design feasibility and project alignment. Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Identify opportunities for design improvements and innovations to enhance performance and efficiency. Engage with clients to understand requirements and present design solutions. Design data center racking in collaboration with consultant professional engineers. Assist with data center layout and take‑offs. Commit to increasing sales in the data center sector. Educate and train customers on Nucor Data Systems products. Prepare 3D model data center design concepts. Build strong working relationships with data center customers. Travel to project sites to perform inspections and attend industry events as needed. Act as a key team member interfacing with all inter‑company departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain commitment to safety as the #1 core value. Promote teamwork to increase Nucor Warehouse System sales and profits.
Minimum Qualifications
2‑4 years of experience in sales, design, and/or customer service. 2‑4 years of solid understanding of the data center industry. Strong problem‑solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). Basic understanding of racking engineering requirements. Proficiency using design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
Preferred Qualifications
2‑4 years experience as a sales design/engineer or business development professional within the data center sector. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Dynamics 365 proficiency. Bachelor's degree.
