Structural Designer Job at Amentum in Oak Ridge

Lead Structural Designer Location: Oak Ridge, TN – Nuclear Projects division. Amentum is seeking a Lead Structural Designer with experience in developing 3D models for steel, concrete, and masonry. Education Minimum high school diploma or GED. Experience & Qualifications 10+ years of design experience in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. Detailing experience for steel and concrete. Ability to autonomously develop 3D models. Advanced knowledge of the AutoCAD suite. 1+ year experience working in a detailing shop or in the field at a project site. Experience on industrial projects. Experience with REVIT highly preferred. Preferred Experience Experience with heavy industrial and nuclear projects. Q Clearance. Experience with Tekla Structures. Experience with MicroStation. Experience with Smart Plant 3D. Essential Requirements Physical requirements: primarily sedentary with occasional walking, standing, and light item transport. Work environment: cubical, may be in a restricted area. Criticality of attendance: must work the normal daytime shift in Oak Ridge. Attendance is essential. Equipment and machines: standard office equipment and required CAD software (personal computer, scanner, copier, telephone, printer, fax). Other essential functions: Secure and maintain a security clearance. Pass drug testing. Read and write effectively in English. Adhere to safety ethics, maintain a positive work atmosphere, and interact/communicate with colleagues and clients. Work under supervision and respond to criticism professionally.
