Job Overview As Director or VP of UX Design, you’ll oversee a distributed design team that delivers customer‑facing experiences, internal tools, and workflows, while ensuring we maintain a strong and consistent design vision that balances brand expression with scalable systems.
The ideal candidate has a background in UX, product design, and strategy, and know‑how to connect the dots between product execution with the bigger story we want to tell as a brand. They’re comfortable moving between long‑term design direction, team mentorship, and hands‑on execution on high‑impact projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human–Computer Interaction, or a related field
8–10+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, including 3–5 years leading design teams or cross‑functional initiatives
Familiarity with design systems management tools (Figma, Storybook, or similar) and collaboration platforms such as Jira and Confluence
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Brand, and Marketing teams to deliver cohesive experiences
Background in startup, retail, or e‑commerce environments is a plus
Self‑motivated and adaptable, with a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution; comfortable shaping processes, managing multiple priorities, and driving high‑quality work in a fast‑moving environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills across global teams, with sensitivity to cultural and time‑zone differences
Ability and willingness to work on‑site at our Tribeca office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a distributed design team, helping them grow while keeping work aligned and consistent.
Define and maintain a design vision that encompasses both the customer experience and the systems behind it.
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Brand to make sure product experiences and campaigns feel connected and tell a clear story for our customers.
Collaborate with the Marketing and Brand teams to convey the messaging and value proposition consistently throughout the customer experience.
Foster an innovative design culture grounded in collaboration, deep user empathy, and high‑level craft.
Drive cross‑functional projects that improve the customer journey from personalization to loyalty to new shopping experiences.
Balance strategic leadership with tactical execution, being able to get into the weeds when the team or project needs it.
