Communications Coordinator
to join our Strategy and Communications department. This position is a full-time opportunity based out of our regional office located in
Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model .

Reporting to a
Senior Writer Content Strategist , the
Communications Coordinator
will play a key role in managing digital content and supporting media and community engagement for MAPMG. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's online presence, ensuring all written, visual, and multimedia materials are accurate, compelling, and aligned with our brand standards. You will also oversee day-to-day website updates, manage editorial calendars, and serve as the primary producer for physician homepage content. Additionally, you will support media and community relations by coordinating physician interviews and appearances, tracking earned media, and identifying opportunities to highlight physician expertise.
You can expect to:
Manage daily website operations, including posting and editing written content, photos, and videos, while ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with brand standards
Collaborate with team members to plan and schedule updates for kp.org/doctor, including physician homepages, blogs, news articles, videos, and podcasts, using editorial calendars and production timelines.
Select, edit, and manage visual assets such as graphics, photography, and video files; prepare videos for web use by uploading, captioning, and archiving for cross-channel access.
Serve as lead producer for physician homepages: format bios, edit and size photos, publish content, and notify physicians and stakeholders of updates.
Maintain and update internal website content, including calendars and resource hubs (e.g., Quick Links), and support publishing on other digital platforms as needed.
Coordinate logistics for physician media interviews and community event appearances in collaboration with PR and community engagement leaders
Track and publicize earned media coverage and write brief summaries of physician media appearances
Identify news topics where Permanente Medicine physicians can offer expertise
What is required:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications / journalism, information systems, public health, web design or related field is required
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in digital/ website content production or related role, including experience in content management systems. (Tridion and WordPress experience are a plus)
High level of organizational skills and ability to coordinate logistics and schedules. Event planning experience is a plus.
Strong oral and written skills; high emotional intelligence; and sound and solid judgement.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Experience editing photos for web (crop and size appropriately)
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Salesforce, Mailchimp and Stripo experience is a plus.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and SEO best practices is a plus. Familiarity with content accessibility and WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is a plus.
High level of initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Preference for working in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to commute to Washington D.C., at least
one
day per week
Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment
Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $79,370.16 to $99,212.70 depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors.
