Office of External Affairs The Office of External Affairs serves as the Commission’s front line for external engagement, building strategic relationships with stakeholders across government and industry. With a combined focus on legislative affairs and communications, the Office maintains a strong presence throughout the legislative process to support lawmakers in shaping Florida’s energy and utility regulatory policy, while also leading the agency’s messaging and outreach efforts.

Description of Job Duties The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, designing, and producing a variety of communications material to support FPSC’s outreach, branding, and engagement efforts. This position plays a key role in creating high-quality visual and written content for social media, publications, videos, and other communications channels. The incumbent ensures consistent application of FPSC branding across all social media, maintains related databases and digital assets, and provides general communications and administrative support to the OEA team.

Minimum Qualifications Four years of relevant work experience in the area of graphic design and/or visual communications is required. An associate degree and two years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the years of required experience.

Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience with social media management in a professional business atmosphere.

Exceptions to this law are provided for former Commission employees who are employed by another agency of State government and those employed by the Commission prior to January 1, 1995.
