JOB SUMMARY Supports Entertainment shows and offerings by performing advanced troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and repairs of technical entertainment equipment and systems. Involved in modifications, testing, installation, and commissioning of replacement systems. Provides technical and mechanical support for day‑to‑day operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze, troubleshoot and implement immediate and long‑term repairs and solutions to improve operational reliability, safety and serviceability of entertainment equipment and systems.

Use a systematic approach to research defective or ineffective parts and systems via technical manuals, drawings and external resources.

Record data entry and communications on tasks, corrective actions and repairs in department tracking systems; research and specify replacement parts.

Perform job duties as described for the department’s non‑lead responsibilities.

Modify equipment and systems per Universal Orlando Entertainment direction.

Communicate and coordinate with other departments or crafts as needed.

Actively participate in learning opportunities in entertainment technologies for all disciplines.

Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

TECH I – Education & Experience

Associate degree (AA) preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in a related field preferred.

5‑8 years’ experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing entertainment equipment.

5‑8 years’ experience in electrical repairs in DC or AC systems preferred.

5‑8 years’ experience in design, installation, or maintenance of A/V & entertainment systems.

Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

TECH II – Education & Experience

Associate degree (AA) preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in a related field preferred.

3‑5 years’ experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing entertainment equipment.

3‑5 years’ experience in electrical repairs in DC or AC systems preferred.

3‑5 years’ experience in design, installation, or operation of A/V & entertainment systems.

Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

TECH III – Education & Experience

Associate degree (AA) preferred.

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in a related field preferred.

1‑3 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing entertainment equipment.

1‑3 years basic troubleshooting knowledge of entertainment systems.

Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida driver’s license required.

Christie Certification Training.

Q‑Sys Level 1, Dante Level 1.

Q‑Sys Level 2, Control Training 201, Control & UCI Fundamentals.

Dante Level 2 or 3.

SMAART Technologies Software Certification.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Computers: basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, or equivalent.

Advanced knowledge in the set‑up and ongoing maintenance of A/V & entertainment systems.

Certificates and factory training desired.

Cable terminations and labeling desired.

Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.

Assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials; maintain and share job knowledge; assist in developing team members.
