Key job responsibilities
Lead product design efforts from concept to execution, creating both physical and virtual prototypes
Design and animate complex mechanical systems with accurate physics and real‑world constraints
Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams including engineers, researchers, and product managers
Create interactive simulations to test and validate design concepts before physical production
Develop and maintain project schedules in a fast‑paced environment
Guide teams through user‑centered design processes
Present technical solutions to stakeholders through visual demonstrations
Basic Qualifications
Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
Knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and InDesign
Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
7+ years of experience in consumer product design
Experience with mechanical design, manufacturing, and engineering constraints
Programming knowledge in C# for interactive prototypes
Demonstrated experience shipping consumer products
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience with CAD modelling software, such as Solidworks or MATLAB
Experience in mentoring, leading and coaching
Experience transforming raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.
Excellent communication skills: visual, verbal, and written
Experience with VR development and real‑time rendering
Ability to solve problems through hands‑on prototyping and experimentation
Strong understanding of physics principles and motion dynamics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
