CONTRACT SPECIALIST- DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the senior Contracting Specialist and principal technical authority, with an Unlimited Contracting Officer warrant, for a variety of complex acquisitions.
Responsibilities
Plan and review work to be accomplished by subordinates (Contract Specialists), setting and adjusting short/long-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Prepare and conduct all major project contract negotiations.
Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Serve as the business advisor in the organization with unlimited warrant authority.
Sign contract actions associated with a wide variety of complex acquisitions.
Research and determine or recommend appropriate action or interpretation of contract issues which impact the organization, installation, command or agency.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guidance.
If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing / signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at: https://afciviliancareers.com/regulatory/
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.

Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.

This position may require travel.
Relocation costs or other incentives may be available and considered by the organization.
