Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for large hyperscale data center campuses and colocation data centers. We design throughout the U.S. and provide opportunities to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects being built today. Our clients are relationship-based and value the work we do, enabling us to contribute to society’s technological and connected community through the design of critical infrastructure that is the foundation of these projects. As a Senior Civil Designer with a grading & utility focus, you will work in a collaborative team environment on multi-disciplinary complex projects. You will work closely with licensed engineers on plans and calculations, utilizing your expertise in Civil 3D and CAD software. In addition to sheet production, you will independently design utilities and surfaces with the oversight of an Engineer. You will need advanced skills in Civil 3D and CAD to create accurate and efficient design solutions to develop detailed drawings and models that communicate design intent effectively. You will frequently design utilizing Pipe Networks, Pressure Pipe Networks, and Surfaces containing Corridors and Feature Lines. Project scale for this team typically starts around 20 acres and can reach 200+ acres for a single campus. Note: Olsson currently has several opportunities for a Senior Civil Designer to support our Data Center Civil team. This role offers flexible work options, including remote and hybrid opportunities to accommodate diverse working preferences. Qualifications
You are: Passionate about working collaboratively with others Committed to ownership in the work you do Able to use your talents to positively affect communities You bring: Strong communication skills Ability to contribute and work well on a team Associate’s degree in drafting or related field preferred 8+ years of drafting and design experience Experience in surface creation, analysis, utility design, and BIM coordination Proficient in Civil 3D software Note: This includes references like “ESOP,” “430+ campus scaling,” etc., that are part of the job posting content.
