Assistant Professor of African American Literature Position Summary Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor of African American literature. This is a full‑time, 9‑month, tenure‑track position beginning August 2024. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of African American Literature courses. We especially welcome candidates who can contribute to courses in Post‑colonial Literature, Women’s and Gender Studies, or African American Studies. Candidates should also demonstrate respect for the diverse teaching and learning needs of students and exhibit the ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of related academic units and co‑curricular centers such as the African American Cultural Center. Required Qualifications Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of African American Literature courses. Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and learning. Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the mission of the African American Studies program and related units. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
