To strengthen and safeguard UAB's brand as a part of the Public Relations (PR) team through strategic content creation, management, and media relations, ensuring proactive and responsive communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develops content ideas and creates materials such as news releases, feature articles, newsletters, and promotional assets for internal and external audiences.
Ensures clear communication of key messages while maintaining adherence to style guidelines.
Curates and manages media lists while coordinating proactive and reactive media efforts to enhance UAB's visibility and representation across national, regional, trade, and local news outlets.
Identifies and implements the most effective channels and distribution methods to maximize reach, engagement, and impact.
Plans and executes PR events, including press conferences, to enhance media engagement and brand visibility.
Represents the institution as a spokesperson, managing official communications and media relations to uphold its reputation and strategic messaging.
Collaborates within the PR team to manage sensitive issues, facilitating and coordinating effective internal and external communications during crises and emergencies.
Coordinates with Marketing and Communications teams and key stakeholders to ensure alignment between central and distributed PR efforts with institutional messaging and objectives.
Compiles and analyzes relevant data to generate reports while staying informed on current trends and developments in the field.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range
$47,665 - $61,965.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, public relations or a related field. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
