Position Summary
The Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for providing AV support for all programs, events, and meetings, assisting with classroom set up, determining equipment needs, and training end users on safe operation of AV equipment.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Set up AV equipment for all programs, events, and meetings including installation and maintenance of microphones, speakers, display devices, projectors, televisions, video cameras, and computers.
Set-up and engineer live concerts.
Set up and produce Livestream Programs.
Set up and produce internal hybrid meetings.
Set up and produce the on-campus delivery of programming to the Kripalu Online Studio.
Provide AV system training to faculty and assistants.
Anticipate the needs of faculty and guests and provide excellent customer service.
Understand and follow AV procedures and workflows, completing tasks in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
Effectively troubleshoot A/V issues.
Complete equipment inspection, repair and preventive maintenance as assigned.
Assist with inventory management and upkeep of AV shop.
Supporting Production with setting up program rooms with seating, yoga props and program supplies.
Provide coverage or perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, within Production and in other areas of the organization when needed.
Provides coverage for other shifts as needed and maintains a flexible schedule.

Essential Skills And Experience
A high level of attention to detail.

Prior experience with livestreamed events and web-based meeting platforms helpful but not required.
Knowledge of Livestreaming Software Programs. OBS, Wirecast, Vmix, etc. Helpful but not required.
Minimal Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience operating audio-visual equipment for live events to include lectures, concerts and special programming.
Excellent communication and customer service skill; Positive attitude.
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience running and maintaining audio visual equipment, including concert set-up, recording, and multi-media set-up.
Knowledge of live audio reinforcement, audio and video recording, and post-production.
Knowledge of Apple and Microsoft DAW Applications.
Working knowledge of Mac & PC OS computers.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends is essential, as is the flexibility to adjust schedule according to the needs of the events.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds at a time independently or with assistance on an occasional basis.
Ability to stand up for extended periods of time.
Ability to use fine motor skills to adapt to changes in temperature due to changing weather conditions.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, walk, kneel, push, pull and twist repeatedly.
Ability to tolerate exposure to noise from general environment.
