Position Overview A technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic/small‑scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Job Responsibilities
Ensure flawless execution of events through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers, maintaining a positive relationship through effective communication.
Meet with guests on site to verify equipment setup and functionality.
Monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day.
Foster the hotel/client relationship.
Understand technical aspects and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve with equipment and software.
Handle equipment challenges and changes promptly and professionally.
Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately.
Use equipment sheets to determine scheduled equipment for set up and strike, interacting with other staff and outside vendors as needed.
Utilize floor up‑selling techniques to increase revenue.
Work with clients to finalize invoices and complete order entries in Navigator as required.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
Internal applicants must meet all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.
External applicants must meet all training and certifications required for this position within one year.
1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
1 year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
Valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate company vehicles.
Additional DOT requirements may apply.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. Conditions vary between moderately quiet and noisy volumes. Team members will use high‑end audio‑visual equipment and electrical components, may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders, and may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times include irregular hours, on‑call status, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines as defined by Encore apply.
Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $15.09 – $18.49. Compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. Some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
