Content Producer – Telemundo 31, Orlando, FL
Telemundo 31 in Orlando, FL seeks a Content Producer responsible for the creation of the newscasts and other news programs as needed.
Job Duties
Responsible for overall production, content and every element of each newscast.
Act as a key communicator in the newsroom – liaise with Assignment Editor, anchors, MMJs, and production crews.
Understand newscast mission, station priorities and be familiar with all platforms.
Select stories, craft newscasts that achieve daily goals.
Stay knowledgeable on daily news events and Central Florida market.
Execute live shots and satellite remotes during live newscasts.
Write and organize news stories; craft headlines, teases and reporter lead‑ins.
Respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy.
Coordinate and plan future community and social story development.
Collaborate with Multimedia Journalists to improve story and presentation quality.
Edit video clips and produce promotional teasers, headlines and topicals.
Work closely with producers and News Director on story/sweeps planning and coordination.
Contribute story ideas and participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
Work directly with content producers to articulate story angle, length and video.
Demonstrate leadership, take responsibility for actions, be a team player.
Complete discrepancy reports accurately to prevent future problems.
Follow Telemundo News standards and ethics.
Qualifications
Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing) and English (speaking, reading).
1–2 years of producer experience or writing/editing.
Excellent news judgment, creative ideas, and writing skills.
Leadership qualities, detail oriented, organized and able to handle intense deadline pressure.
