100% onsite for first 5 months while on contract, 3-2 hybrid schedule following conversion. About the Role
We are currently seeking an Assistant Civil Designer to support a wide range of civil engineering projects for renewable energy clients. This is a hands-on role that will support planning, design, and documentation phases on high-impact infrastructure projects. This position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team on site design, utility layouts, stormwater systems, roadway design, and more. Ideal candidates will have a foundation in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and be comfortable assisting in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design of civil projects including site development, storm drainage, water/sewer utilities, grading, erosion control, traffic control, and related infrastructure. Support drawing production and design calculations for complex assignments. Create and refine design layouts, mark-ups, and rough sketches. Analyze topographical and geologic data, maps, and reports to inform designs. Interpret and apply applicable design codes and specifications. Complete volume calculations for grading and excavation. Organize and maintain revisions, plot files, and project records. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers across disciplines. Maintain adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or related field + 2 years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree + 3 years of relevant experience; OR 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel. Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
