Job Profile
Our Production Department is in search of a talented and experienced candidate to join us as a Wide Web Flexographic Print Press Operator.
Description
Wide Web Flexographic Print Experience Required.
As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up and high-quality running on a Flexo press at an optimum speed without supervision.
Responsibilities
To succeed in this role, you should be able to troubleshoot machines for any malfunctions or irregularities, perform regular quality checks and fix machine parts as needed to ensure they operate successfully. This position may require significant work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business. It has a moderate to high demand for tight deadlines and will experience moderate interruptions in workflow, often starting and stopping for product changeovers.
Required Qualifications
Ability to tone colors of solvent ink. Assemble and adjust doctor blade chambers. Adjust press to maximize run speed. Load and unload print sleeves from press, storage rack and rolls of material from press. Check ink viscosity. Ability to clean ink pumps. Must be able to oversee and train press assistant, and direct assistant in completing responsibilities. Responsible to Maintain a high level of cleanliness to keep machine operable. Ability to maintain housekeeping for the press and workstation. Responsible for condition of machine and work area. Always committed to working safely.
Skills and Requirements
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Ability to read and write English. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures. Knowledge of equipment operation and/or maintenance. Ability to lead and train staff. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork. Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. Ability to perform simple arithmetic. Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. High School diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Physical Requirements
Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping. Continuous (6 to 10 hours per day) standing and walking. Continuous (6 or more hours per day) talking, teaching, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement. Good eyesight, normal hearing. Ability to move and lift objects, frequently 75 lbs.
