We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to deliver innovative K-12 solutions for students, teachers, and admins, starting with assessments. The heart of this role is designing accessible and innovative product experiences for students in a scrappy, iterative environment. You should feel at home working in ambiguity and charting a path forward. You will help define critical areas for re-imagining the Assessments experience, leveraging expertise from subject matter experts, new capabilities from generative AI, and data from pilot studies. You will ensure our experience is accessible and integrated into our larger product portfolio. Previous experience contributing to a design system is required as this role offers the opportunity to develop new interaction patterns and visual cues. WHAT YOU’LL DO Design innovative solutions for students, teachers, and administrators Conduct discovery work to understand key problem areas in the product space Collaborate with UX research to define knowledge gaps, research plans, and execute on generative and evaluative research with support from the UX research team Create strategic design artifacts that help the organization understand how the Assessments team fits in the product portfolio (e.g., customer journey maps, competitive analysis) Design WCAG AA-compliant widgets in collaboration with the Learning Components team for Assessment content delivery Regularly contribute components and style guide documentation for our design system Participate in design reviews, delivering and soliciting feedback to strengthen work Collaborate with other product teams to design end-to-end experiences integrating with existing and next-gen educational platforms Ideate on how generative AI features can support item creation and assessment content development Partner with Product Managers and leadership to design iterative concepts toward the shared vision for assessment Provide thoughtful input on the product roadmap, strategy, and vision Drive operational excellence in design projects with clear communication to partners Build alignment across diverse teams and present concepts in team and org-wide meetings WHAT YOU BRING

6+ years of relevant experience on an in-house product design team 5+ years of conducting research and working with a UX research team 4+ years of experience designing accessible experiences Strength across interaction design, prototyping, information architecture, with visual design chops Comfort in ambiguous, startup-like environments and ability to respond to leadership feedback Ability to juggle ambiguous problems with smaller, well-defined projects Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical partners Ability to build cross-functional relationships and involve others in the conversation Lean approach to product design with focus on quick learning and delivering value Motivation to support Khan Academy’s mission Cross-cultural competency and inclusive perspectives NOTE:

Salary : The target range for this position is $127,423 - $138,291 USD / $172,188 - $186,875 CAD. The offered salary will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s skills and experience.
