Audio Visual Engineer
to support a large-scale defense contract located in
Alexandria, VA
through 100% on site presence. The
Audio Visual Engineer
will lead the design, integration, and lifecycle support of secure AV systems, including video conferencing, control systems, and AV-over-IP technologies, to ensure mission‑critical communication capabilities across classified and unclassified environments.
Responsibilities
Design, integrate, and maintain AV systems including Crestron/AMX control systems, Extron switching, and Cisco Webex/TelePresence platforms
Lead implementation and lifecycle management of AV infrastructure such as projection, display, sound reinforcement, and AV-over-IP systems
Troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues in secure, fast‑paced environments to ensure operational continuity
Collaborate with system administrators, facilities teams, and mission stakeholders to support secure conferencing and command center operations
Interpret and develop system schematics, signal flow diagrams, and rack layouts for AV installations
Travel 10–15% to support installations, testing, and field troubleshooting as needed
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in AV engineering, integration, or support—preferably within secure, government, or enterprise environments
Proficiency in Crestron/AMX programming, Extron systems, Cisco Webex/TelePresence, and AV-over-IP technologies
Strong understanding of control system design, signal flow analysis, and AV system schematics
Active TS/SCI clearance
Excellent problem‑solving skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in mission‑driven environments
Experience supporting secure AV systems in DoD or intelligence community environments (preferred)
Familiarity with integrating emerging AV technologies in classified space (preferred)
Compensation
Salary Range: $110,000-120,000 depending on experience
