Trinity Health Livonia Hospital. St. Mary Mercy Hospital is a full-service, 304-bed acute care hospital located in Livonia, MI, providing comprehensive care including a 24-hour emergency department, general medicine, inpatient and outpatient surgery, rehabilitation, ICU, cancer, cardiology, geriatrics, and women’s health. Perform routine, intermediate, and advanced level polysomnographic and electroencephalographic testing. Provide technical analysis of data. Ascertain status of assigned work and reports. Assist with training of personnel. Ensure maintenance of EEG and related equipment. Document all diagnostic test parameters for interpretation. Perform routine, awake, drowsy, and sleep recordings. Independently perform sleep-induced and sleep-deprived studies. Perform cerebral silence (brain death) recordings per established protocol. Perform other CVS, NICV testing per cross-trained competency level. 12-lead electrocardiogram. Holter hook-up. Required Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure
Basic and advanced level polysomnographic and EEG courses with additional experience after advanced training or certification as a Registered Electroencephalographic, Polysomnographic Technologist or related field. 2 1/2 years in an electroneurodiagnostics lab or Sleep Disorder Unit with relevant training. Experience with various equipment including analog and digital. Able to identify abnormal morphology and respond appropriately (seizures, etc.). Expert knowledge with EEG lab equipment, its operation and application. Knowledge of various electroneurological disorders and their treatments. Proficient in application of 10/20 system. Knowledge of basic body mechanics and ability to perform CPR. Basic understanding of 12- and 15-lead EKG; ability to independently utilize the MUSE system including edit, retrieve, print, download orders/results.
