The English, Speech, and Journalism Department invites applications for one English Instructor position starting Fall 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Overview The role involves administering courses, delivering instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student assignments in accordance with departmental standards, advising students, and providing service to the college. Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting, hybrid, and online. Classes are conducted on all TTC campuses and at local high schools; therefore, travel is required.
Responsibilities
Administer courses and deliver instruction in classroom, hybrid, and online settings.
Design and develop curriculum and evaluate student assignments in accordance with departmental standards.
Advise students and provide service to the college.
Travel to all TTC campuses and local high schools as required.
Teach a normal load of 5-6 courses per semester in fall and spring; summer teaching assignments may be available.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in English or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English at the 500-level or higher.
Experience teaching college-level composition, literature, and technical writing courses at a two-year, open-access institution highly preferred.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching through effective instructional strategies and techniques.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
Educational development experience (working with faculty and/or students on teaching & learning assessment) desired.
Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
