40 hours per week Week A& B: Sun OFF; Mon 9:00-6:00; Tues 9:00-6:00; Wed9:00-6:00; Thurs 11:00 - 8:00; Fri 9:00 - 6:00; Sat OFF Week C: Sun OFF; Mon 9:00-6:00; Tues 9:00-6:00; Wed 9:00-6:00;Thurs 11:00 - 8:00; Fri 9:00 - 6:00; Sat 9:15 - 5:15 Week D: Sun 12:15 - 5:15; Mon OFF; Tues 9:00-6:00; Wed 9:00-6:00;Thurs 11:00 - 8:00; Fri 9:15 - 6:15; Sat OFF (NOTE: This schedule is subject to change pending the move intothe new Maker Lab location)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in libraries and maker spaces.
Must complete pre-employment testing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans,promotes, and presents innovative programs for the Maker Lab workspaces and/orat off-site visits; Sharesmaker information, activities, and programs through communityoutreach Responsiblefor maintaining an attractive and engaging environment in the Maker Labworkspaces through high quality patron interactions, dynamic displays, andmore Providestraining for all equipment and troubleshoots technology as needed Responsiblefor Maker Lab, classroom, and workspace closing procedures when scheduled fornight and weekend closings Participatesin department meetings, attends regular training related to library and MakerSpace work Remainsaware of safety and security issues and takes appropriate action asneeded
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent combination of educationand experience in libraries and maker spaces Knowledge and proven experience with a variety of maker activitiesand/or technology, including (but not limited to) 3d printing (slicing andrendering), archival digitization, laser cutting/etching (e.g. Glowforge,XTool), sewing, embroidery, desktop cutting (e.g. Cricut, Silhouette), digitaldesign (e.g. Adobe, Canva), handicrafts, and/or weaving Comfort with learning, utilizing, and teaching others theactivities and technologies Comfort interacting with a wide range of patrons of all ages andabilities Proficient with technology and the ability to troubleshootequipment and software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to establish deadlines, monitor progress, and work wellwith a team Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive to otherlibraries or community outreach
