Music Therapist - Oncology Job at Providence in Seattle

Music Therapist – Oncology Providence Swedish is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to join our Oncology Outpatient Clinics. In this role, you will provide evidence‑based music therapy interventions that reduce stress, strengthen coping skills, foster creative expression, and support the physical and emotional well‑being of patients and families throughout the cancer journey. You will work as a core member of the Psychosocial Oncology Team—Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Social Work, Psychiatry—collaborating with medical staff to ensure an integrated, interdisciplinary approach. The position also offers independent clinical practice, including individual and group interventions, while expanding and embedding music therapy services across our oncology clinics. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA‑approved program Board Certification in Music Therapy (Certification Board for Music Therapists) upon hire Washington Music Therapist License upon hire Hold and maintain the MT‑BC title Preferred Qualifications Advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy Advanced training in Guided Imagery and Music 2+ years of music therapy experience in a medical setting (preferred) Benefits and Compensation Our benefits are designed to support your personal and professional growth, including a comprehensive package: retirement 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid parental/holidays, voluntary benefits, wellness resources, and more.
